Mustard Seed

A few days back, this customer came in to make an accident report,
i must say he is one of those calmer ones when we said that its quite difficult to win
his case and might have to claim from his own insurance..
that's not the point.

His company's name is called Mustard Seed..
Once i saw it, it reminded me of a song that i heard from the Donut Man Series
(that is available in the church library btw.. its my tong nian! and my brother's)
anyways, its a show that introduces Jesus to kids, (my mom use to buy those video tapes from christian bookshops) and they talk about different biblical stories and stuff..
They describe our life to be like a donut.. having a hole in the middle, we are not complete..
and it can only be filled up by having Jesus in our lives - the only thing that can make us whole.
anyways, i digress.

Yes, so this song is called the mustard seed song.. i cant remember all the lyrics though..
it goes something like..

I'm a little mustard seed, (cannot remember)..
(Something about being very small and wat.. not feeling as gd as other seeds)

One day they dug a hole and put me inside,
covered me with dirt, i was scared and i cried,

恩约儿童之家

im so tired, n i now have a headache. haha..
am just back from a visit to 恩约儿童之家 @ JB... n i have to say..
i miss those kids! i miss esther! lol.. argh! ok im crazy.. so i haven been blogging much.. im now gonna do a rather long post.. no worries.. i have pictures to show u all!

Arriving @ JB
we met up with 甘传道 @ city square JB and she drove us to our 1st location.

so fast fall asleep liao. pig.
the ladies were more awake.. looking at the scenery..

one of the children frm the orphanage.

Our 1st stop, was this very colourful building..well.. i only managed to take the gates, but the bricks outside are also very colourful, obviously the building itself is not.. ok.. colourful outer.. outside. haha.
So we went in, and immediately the foul smell of dog pee + pee + i dunno what other foul smelling thing to make the smell so foul hit me and all of our noses.. yes, all 9 of us.
the 1st impression it gave me was.. man, this place is not very clean, and it smells.. not very nice... but 甘传道 explain to us that this is where the orphans sleep at night. Because they have yet to have a place of their own, they are renting this house and a few shop houses a few streets away.. so the kids sleep here and have activities in another area..

this is the living area.. those cupboards are for the kids to put their stuff, its like their wardrobe.. all neatly organized.

after visiting this house, we went to the activity centre which could be where we would be sleeping for the next 2 nights.. and went around to 参观..

and this is the stars up to our room.. so retro.

they have this playroom, where they can erm.. sort of like try and understand the child through these toys.. u noe like when u watch CSI and when kids are traumatized and refuse to talk, these specialist would come and talk to them using toys or drawings.. this room is for the purpose.

the living room.. not bad.. still got TV.

and a super mini fridge

our bedroom.. we had colourful cartoon printed bedsheets for our mattresses..

downstairs houses the kid's play,worship,learning,activity area.. a big hall and a dining area + the office + a kitchen

the corridor leading to the kitchen, filled with boxes of toys and costumes and of course.. pictures!

the kitchen area.. cooking for 40 over kids is no easy feat!

giving us a brief briefing...

my "work" station for 2 days.. the computer was kindly donated by someone..
he bought a couple for the children to use.. the other computer are upstairs in the computer room where they can play.

these are old computers where the kids learn how to fix them.. very cool.. a way to earn some money and to pick up a skill so that they can survive next time.. its like a mini workshop.. monitors, CPU, graphic cards, mother boards.. the works.

so stressful, they have so many trophies on bible knowledge competition.. the and 甘传道 said that the other time, students frm the SBC lost to them in bible knowledge! so stressed!

finally we saw kids.. lol..
this is the girl's "work" area, the guys fix computers while the girls do craft work to sell.. they are really creative.. and they have lots of old toys,used materials and they turn it into something nice and creative.. most of us bought things there.. lol..

they are also currently renovating a place they just rented to house those mothers who are not married or single mothers..
place has 10 rooms..
under renovation..
after all the looking around and unpacking and bathing.. we headed to our next destination for a very important event.

very very nice scenery and beautiful sunset.. and.. its near singapore so.. singapore reception!!!
no roaming charges! lol

Thanks to 甘传道 for a very fulfilling dinner.. like i said.. everything is very nice..
n we sweep everything clean clean.. lol..
but this was like a bribery.. haha.. bcoz after this, we had to do many many things!

work, work, work and more work!
on the 1st night, we had discussion with 甘传道， den when she left we had briefing withing our team, and after the 2 老师 cannot tahan and went to bed, we were left with the task to think of games to replace some last min changes.. when we went up to the room it was about 12.30am..

but all the hard work and planning was all worth it for this..

it was a very short trip and i guess many of us were rather reluctant to leave and hoped to have more time with the kids there.. they are really very different frm kids in spore and very easily contented.. while spore kids complain about not having enough money for sch, each of the kids there no matter the age would always be grateful for whatever they are given - stickers, notebooks, sweets.. they are so adorable! after the sunday service we had with them today (which was the last activity with them) we said our early goodbyes, and some of them started to cry! lol.. afterwhich, we became superstars with kids wanting our autographs, our phone numbers, facebook and even birthdays! and we had many many photos taken with some of them.. just like superstars.. lol..

hopefully, we will have another trip back, and hopefully, i can join them again..
i wanted to end of with 1 of their fav songs that we taught them, but the stupid file is corrupted.. i now plan to sms the person there to see if she could send me her pictures and videos.. hang tight.. hopefully i can get them coz.. its really beautiful to hear them sing.

P.S. After being reminded by SY's blog post, a couple of interesting things happen..
the kids there are really smart! we had originally planned to bring the kids out to 风筝山 to play, but due to some issues, we had to make changes, and so on the timetable that was given to the kids, we had to liquid off the word 风筝山. I think we are either too stupid, or we thought that they were stupid or the kids outsmart us. haha..
they scraped off my liquid and still saw the word and asked song lian lao shi about it.
my kids are even more adorable, they told me.. lao shi, can see from the back! den they flip to the back page and show me that the word can be seen.. lol
kids nowsadays.

i always thought that ashes were like those that we see on TV..
like u noe.. white powder.. until i saw it with my own eyes today.
Not sure if its like white powder last time.. but at this pt of time.. i see it as..
burnt bones.

Never have i had the experience to participate in this.. collecting the ashes,
n the "priest" inspecting the ashes, we all have to take 1 bone out of the rectangular box and onto the cloth that it will be wrapped into.
its.. well. quite an experience..
not saying i want to experience more. lol..
my cousin must now give directions, like, oh going on board the bus, going across the bridge.. i find it some what amusing, but hey, i respect them.
But i have to listen to God more. haha..
dont noe of the picking of bones is like.. a part of the ritual.. i shld check it out with chuan dao..

on the bus now, towards bishan..
its gonna be another long day.
im shagged from the lag of slp..
think i was awake for more then 24 hrs already..
hope i can drive home safely later. haha.

Aikido and the Art of Life

A few years back I used to take up Aikido for fun. There were lots of basic training which now when I reflect, is really a fantastic way to which we should approach life.

At the start of every lesson, my Sensei used to make sure we do some basic warm ups and tumbling. In this exercise, we learn how to fall properly, and how to get up fast after a fall. In fact, at the beginning of every lesson and during every sparring session, falling properly is very critical focal point.

In any sparring activity, we have to always get up fast to prepare for the next attack. And we have to fall properly, to ensure we can get up.

In life, we all will fall, once, twice, maybe even more. You cannot expect to go through life without falling. And if we take a tip or two from Aikido, you should prepare yourself for a fall, when doing things, consider the possibility that your plans will not go as planned, what will you do?

Learn, to "fall properly". Consider the unexpected. Think about what you will do with your life IF

- You do not pass the exams

- Your bf/gf/spouse is no longer with you

- You experience death of a closed one

- Your worklife is completely not what you expected

- Something happens in the family

etc etc etc

And when you do fall, don't stay down, get up quickly. Just like in sparring and your enemies are not going to wait for you to get up before beating you up again, time is not going to stop and wait for you to recover. If you have fallen, get up, brace yourself, and get ready to fight again.

Acknowledge that you have fallen, no big deal, life goes on.

I don't know how many of you watch kung fu shows, or maybe the popular anime Naruto. When the hero gets beat up (esp Naruto), do they stay down? Do they lie there and lament and wonder how they fell? No!

They get up, get back and fight with more energy, more drive and more thirst to win the enemy.

Everyone has set backs, but let me tell you, its not that some people have worse set backs than others. The difference is in how prepared each person was in the fall, and how fast he or she got up.

In failure we learn and In falling we toughen.

i have no idea what to put as the title.
was blog hopping around.. and i realized that i haven
exactly been updating my blog.

why? well maybe because i dont have anything much to blog about
everyday is just a mundane repetition of work and home.
last night after dinner i found myself sitting on the bed,
not knowing what to do, and staring into space for 1 min.
(anyways, i did do something later.. which is to continue reading my bible.)

the weather these few days have gone back to being crazy.
Hot like oven in the morning till noon time, and heavy rain in the evening time.
hot cold hot cold hot cold.. i reckon many ppl are going to fall sick..
drink more water eh.
im feeling so hot now.. and im having a headache. crap.

pls remind me that i have to collect my sundown race pack this weekend.
i have a feeling i will forget.

yeah.. happy good friday everyone!
its not just a holiday.. but a time of the year where we remember that
our jesus died on the cross for our sins.. so that we could live..
for those who read the old testament of the bible.. u'll see how people have died bcoz
of their sins.. without Jesus, i think all of us wont be here right now, i wont be able to write this
and u who are reading wont be able to read this.. coz we will have probably have died.

anyways, i was talking to gina the other day.. (quite some time ago in fact..)
and she was saying her dad told her that all the religions are the same..
asking u to do gd.. n today.. i was reminded of this in an incident.. n i got my answer to
her statement.. something i shld have known.. but mayb my small brain cannot remember.. haha

so this afternoon, this guy came in to the office and asked for a donation.
quite common for industrial areas la.. anyways..
so he was asking for donations for some stray animals thingy in pasir ris...
so my aunt donated becoz it was for the animal shelter.. and the guy started saying..
oh.. 小姐你很好心菩萨一定保佑你 and he went on and on saying that my aunt 积德..
and den she will be blessed.. den i remembered..
the difference between Christianity and well.. the other religions is exactly this.
Many other religions tell their believers to do go.. to do more charity so that you can 积德, the more good you do, the better you will be in your next life, or when u die.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins, because God loves us.. not becoz we are lovable..
not because we are capable.. but simply becoz we are his children.. we no need to do gd to 积德 to go to heaven.. God says, those who believe will den be saved.. Christians so called do good things not becoz we have to 积德 but becoz God loves us, and we in turn learn to love people around us.. so there.
thats the difference...

hmm.. its the 2nd earth hour thingy that is being held..
and so i thought that it would not affect me at all since i wont be at home
which means my lights would be switched off anyways.

but at church jf chuan dao wanted to do her part..
so we had a rather special night sharing in the darkness..
at 8.30 we switched off all the lights we were using..
except for the toilet lights.. (but they were only turned on during the break anyways)
n so yeah. tat was rather special.

i really do, especially just after getting back from st.hil's NPCC 38th batch farewell night.
38! 38th batch is graduating!
i was from the 31st batch!!!!!
i feel old.

so the 31st gathered at the shss canteen after 7 years tonight (i just came back btw)
after some simple eating (i only ate like 5 satay, 1 crabmeat and a pack of sotong)
and buying of green tea (coz the drinks they served was really diluted)
we started to explore the sch, (n serene discovered that her o lvl art piece was on the display. 7 long yrs!)
anyways, we climbed up the stairs, went to our sec 4 classrooms at the 4th lvl,
den headed towards the "huanted" girls toilet and den later towards the also "huanted"
science lab (of course walking thru the dark corridor of the science lab) went down n passed by
the also "huanted" library. after the tour of the old block, we went up to the new block and reminisce the times when we were young and.. uncontrollable.

(p.s. zhe lun wasen in church today becoz he was in shss, the symphonic band were having their camp.. n i saw andy).

anyways, after all the exploring, went back to the creativity hall n "watched" the batches perform for the graduating batch.. haiz. all i can say is.. i feel old.
and the NP cadets have a much better life now.. like rayyan said. they have fun, have more fun until they wet their pants.
in our time, we kana tekan, have fun, kana tekan, laugh and kana tekan.
haha.. but anyways, got to see ying jie, carrin and lania.. of course our papa alex..
i really miss the old times man. even though we always kana tekan.

i think this is stagnant already.. lets see..
Chinese New Year is almost over.. b4 that.. better faster wish everyone who still
bothers to read my blog, a happy chinese new yr.. ang baos shld increase this yr
coz economy improve tio bo?

lets see.. my new yr was a short n rather boring.. visiting was not as rushed as the previous years.
but ate lots of yu sheng this yr.. i think i ate like.. 5 times at least..
my 1st was with the lemus.. while the most recent 1 was with my uni mates last nite at auntie's condo..
speaking of which, i really must thank God..
we were there for a bbq session @ 6.30 but it started to rain cats n dogs
@ ard 5 plus.. i guess i took for granted that we will have gd weather..
anyways, on the spot prayed for a gd weather n went to auntie's hse to watch
舞林大道 on channel u.. and at ard 6.50 to 7 pm.. God cleared the sky for us to have a nice
bbq.. whee~

ok nothing much, i'm beginning to wonder wat kind of jobs i can now take on, now that i have completed my degree.. (feels strange though.. that i dont need to worry for assignments or rush for deadlines.. but pls, dosen mean u can give me your assignments to do.. im just saying. i feel weird) or maybe i should cont a masters programme somewhere.. haha.. i dunno.

has brought me to meet many interesting incidents.. including an almost accident
which could have probably killed me and everyone in the car. haha.. sound so serious rite.
thank God im still ard here to blog.

anyways, 1stly..
to all drivers out there.. if u see ppl flashing their headlights at u,
its not always a bad thing, they might just be trying to warn you about something.
so i was at upp thomson road.. when i saw a car frm the opp direction flashing his headlight..
( i was warned before by my aunt..) so i immediately realize that there is TP there
looking out for speeding vehicles.. not that i was speeding in the 1st place. lol.

my 2nd incident was at the workshop, i was about to drive off when this uncle frm
another motorcycle workshop fainted infront of my car.. when i went up to him he still
had some consciousness.. luckily..

3rd one is more of an experience den an incident.. love the riding exp with pikachu and erm.. rolla.. chilling at lao di fang n of course riding on the lanes.. its 1 of my wishes in the past to have cars hogging all the lanes.. lol.

well and of course, the almost death incident was when i made a wrong turn, i wanted to reverse
when i suddenly saw a big truck, coming towards me.. i said opps, and wanted to step on the brakes.. but den.. out of panic, i stepped on the acclerator instead.. u can imagine the shock man.. luckily the truck managed to stop on time. if not.. well, get me some flowers ba. haha..

kidding, i need to go back to my assignment.

really the end of the world?
come on.. who really knows for sure?
there were predictions that Y2K would mark the end of the world..
but we are already moving towards a decade already.
so no. no matter how advance our technology is, how accurate some "feng shui" master is, NOBODY WILL KNOW FOR SURE WHEN THE WORLD IS GOING TO END.
soon, is the correct word to use.
the end is coming, soon.

anywayssss... im talking about 2012 because i watched the movie
last night.. i must say, great effects, the flooding, the earthquakes etc
(shall not say so much, dont want to spoil it for those who have not watched it)
no wonder enen(my 6 yr old student) says he likes the show.. haha.. he told me last sunday
that the show was nice.

in the middle of the show, it suddenly struck me..
on screen, were images of the white house, the big casino in LA, those great and nice architectures, but everything were doomed to break apart because of the earthquakes, and not one person can prevent it from happening.

like i said, no matter how smart humans think they are, no matter how rich you are,
or how strong the building is, when it ends, it ends. haha.
anyways, i felt like the 2012 was like noah's ark but without God's wisdom and a higher class ark.
and to those who are afraid, no worries, God promised that there will be no more flooding..
rainbow's a promise.. and God will keep his promises.

so this coming festive season, if anyone is interested to know what you can do to
prepare for the end of the world, you are welcome to give me a call/sms

exams are over! which means my sem is over..
i've got just 1 more module to complete b4 i graduate..
(that is if i pass both my modules this sem la..)
however, i noe many other uni students are actually preparing for
their exam.. sooo.. jia you ah!

got about 1 mth plus of break before the next sem starts..
so i can slack n enjoy now! haha.. i wanna go sing K.. !!

"forced" me to watch the singapore hit awards when i already rejected PS..
thanks. but u muz wait for me to have $ to return the tix $ to u. haha.

Its the start of yet another wk..
i had meant to start working on my L&M assignment 2 last wk..
but.. the dewi sickness struck me - procrastination.
haha.. so yes, i slacked my weekends away..

so on sat, i had my usual dosage of zhong ji san guo, n i wasted my time doing
dunno wat..
after that went to visit my grandpa.. he looked really weak, but happy to see us. coz usually my dad says he wont even wake up to eat, go to the loo or do other things.. technically he just sleeps his day away.
but when we were there last wk, my dad woke him and told him that we were all there..
he got up rather.. quickly..
but his legs were wobbling, and he kinda trembled when he tried to walk.. i tot he would have a fit attack sia.
nothing of tat sort happened though.
pls pray for my grandpa he has cancer, and he's already 90 over years old..
dunno how long he can last, but he still has not accepted christ..
i always felt that talking to the elderly (well and middle age people) is really difficult.. how do i start? how do i go about it? specially with my grandpa's condition like tat.. i wonder can he even think properly? but anyways, anything is possible with God, so pls keep him in prayer. (if any1 is looking)

hmm, to think i wanted to skip tuan qi last sat becoz we were rather late.
and i had to fetch my parents home.
luckily i din.. once again, li nan ming chuan dao has reminded me about alot of things.. he talked for a long time, but still it was a gd sermon, n i learnt a couple of new things.

so the highlight of my sunday had to be watching stomp.
it was very very very last minute.
i only bought the tickets at around 2pm for the 7pm show.
$40 restricted view, but i was seated at the 2nd row.
the view was alright la.
i totally enjoyed the performance although i think some of the ideas
were like copied/brought over frm a couple of years back..

yes im at work now.. economy bad,
no business, therefore i have nothing much to do..
not that i have anything much to do to begin with..
anyways, im really bored.. and i gave up looking for journals already.
lazy to scan through millions of articles just to find 1 perfect 1 to use
as reference for my essay.
i am lazy.
which is bad.

i think i would have thousands of photos just waiting to be uploaded..
including euler's enlistment and popping, certain places to makan, yellow ribbon run and wat not.
i cant really remember.

life's been mundane. although im only taking 2 modules this sem..
but the previous break was way too long.. so it makes it difficult to
get back into the routine of doing assignments, reading up tons n tons of journals
and my textbook. grah!!!

im envious of people who have time (and money) to relax now and then..
to be able to just go out and chill..
with that said.. i just bought a new lcd tv! (but my mom asked me - "you buy for wat? also never use.." ). Thanks for reminding me i have no time to even watch tv.

anyways, enuf of my repeated complains about me being busy n broke n lazy.

celebrate mom's bday at sheraton towers coz of HSBC's offer..
4 ppl pay for 3.. so..
after reading many good reviews, we decided to go there.. the dining room.
its also known for the nice ambiance..

when i arrived.. i got a shock that they actually served foie gras as starters!
my goodness.. haha.. it was soooooo gd.. that my dad kept "pastering" the waitress for more!
haha.. its nice!
but den again they say its cruel.. anyways.

topped with a thinly slice yam and served on a barley base.. the foie gras is really nice!
the other thing beside it is actually soft shell crab.. but nothing special abt tat la..
crispy.. is all i can say.. lol.
i dont even noe y they pair it together.. i think its redundant..

just to say.. its buffet dinner.. my photos are all taken off my own plate..
as in i go n take the food.. plate it.. n eat it.. its not served by the chefs..
just in case u guys r wondering y the plating so ugly.. haha..

so i started with a little salad with salmon sashimi...

this is braised lamb or something.. its really..... really gd!!!!!
haha.. very flavourful.. n tender meat!

The mercedes E200 is really difficult to drive!

i think its.. a PI car or something.. i sat in the car n got lost..

its quite an experience la.. coz i dont think i will get another chance to drive

if he was given the chance to be one of the leaders of our country (the small red dot),

as i was watching the noose today(not literally la.. i was watching cna, not the 1 with adriana wow),
anyways, on the noose today, 2 of the reports caught my attention.

the first was the news on mas selamat..
the headline was stuck on cna at the bottom of the screen,
its like the govt wans to declare victory n tell all sporeans tat
see! we have caught that idiot. we won!
den during the report they go on to show how much they did n wat they did
blah blah blah.. n they mentioned that he was caught one mth ago..
ya ya.. u took over 1 year to find him! plus with all the strict searches and
causing the causeway to jam up for long long long hrs, HE STILL MANAGED TO ESCAPE
TO MALAYSIA!!

with a large choir grp singing.. its no big deal right? having a choir to sing..
well, it reminded me of a certain sermon by i 4got which pastor during one
of the sunday services, that even the buddhist are singing.. during their erm. worship (or wateva its called..)
not that they cant sing, its just weird.. normally u see the buddhist chanting n wat not for their
worships, not sing.. singing was a christian "thing"..
n now, they are also singing! the pastor said something abt them changing the lyrics of amazing
grace and some other song.. (seriously, amazing grace is such a classic, n they changed it, can we sue them of copyright?)

i din hear wat tat choir featured on the news was singing(coz i was on my ipod. )
but it got me thinking. about wat the pastor said that day.
really, singing is a way of glorifying our Lord..
so ppl, open ur mouth n sing! dosen matter if u cant hit the right notes

yes, thats right. My exam results have been released.
damn.
i got a C for my developmental, D for my research method.

i guess its not bad right? C for developmental.
considering that throughout the entire sem i was in a blank,
did not know what the lecturer (Mr. Siva) was talking about
was he even teaching? all i can remember is
that he charges $300 per hr for his consultations, has a penang GF
and often travels there during the weekend.
seriously.
no1 likes him and he probably hates me for talking too much in class
or in his words "disturbing" him.

dad's bday was a simple affair.. we had dinner at grand copthrone..
food was passable only.. we din cut the cake coz we're all so full..
n euler's bday is coming.. tats y im broke!!!
plus all tat bus/MRT trips is also making me broke..
stupid sch move till so far away..

hmm.. after having lessons for consecutive 2 wks,
i can finally move on to a more stable schedule.. ah..

its somewhere at bukit merah. yes.. im complaining yet again..

ITS SOOOOOOO FARRRRRRR AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY...
n there is no straight buses to where ever.. so
i have to take a bus to clementi MRT n den take a train home
either that i could take a bus to toa payoh n take no. 8 home
i dunno how i wanna go home yet.. only 3 lessons there,
so far i went once to dover and to clementi.. FAR!
n the nearest hawker centre is like 10 mins walk away.. crap.

anyways, for some who r wondering y i haven been to church
(but i doubt any1 would wonder, but i'll be annoying n say anyway..)
i've got lessons.. coming wk oso have.. so i wun be
in church again.. bcoz at every start of each modules, the australian
lecturers would come down and "teach".. so i have 3 days of seminar..
fri, sat n sun.. weekends are full day lessons..
so shag.. weekends oso cannot rest.. no wonder i dun feel the blues on monday..
it seemed like i have no rest at all..
when i woke up on mon i thot it was a sunday. ha.

Its a nice show! haha.. semi addicted to it..
for those who dunno wat show this is, the chinese name is
"溏心風暴之家好月圓"
now do u noe the show? i think bel wont even if the chinese
name is revealed.. makes no difference to u rite?
coz u dun watch TV.. (but i watched this on DVD!)

anyways.. semi addicted coz.. sometimes i can just pull
myself away and do some other stuff w/o watching the
entire episiode.. (sometimes i think its a little draggy)
the characters are so.. kuku? almost in every episode there
will be yelling and screaming.. but all these aside,
its still a nice show.. currently at episode 22..
comtemplating to jump to the final episode 40 tonight! haha..
i juz can wait to watch the ending of the evil,bitchy,scheming ass step mom
(sorry if i sound valgur) but she really is so (*#&$(*@!^ i feel like slapping
her everytime i see her.. haha..

so if u r free n free n nothing to do,

this is the 1st one.. a hand made dessert.. inside the egg skin is cream n dou sha..

was surfing ard the internet, well forums to be more precised..
and stumbled onto this..

NESPERSSO.. think its called le cube.. cant remember now la.. haha.. i have to reopen the webpage.. the way that u put the coffee powder is quite special eh.. or mayb i sua ku?
it even has a place within the cube to store and dry the expresso cups

n becoz unlike most comercial coffee machines, tat cube thingy does not have a milk steamer..
so tadah! a seprate device.. looks like a flask hor.. it states that it dosen use steam to make the milk warm n foamy.. dunno wat it use lo.. up till 65 degrees so that it would keep all the protiens of the milk.. this is impt if u wanna make lattes etc..

the angmos got a shock.. haha.. the way she/he dressed was like sooo.. urgh..
wanted to take a pic secretly.. but figured was very rude.. so dun wan la.. n very dark somemore.. after a few songs den she/he left..

so the next morning.. after my exam..

okyaya went for a tour of church history..
i dun have much pics.. coz i din bring any camera..
n i used my phone.. haiz.. i wanna buy a DSLR!! but 1st i have to save..

so we visited 3 churches.. another 3 we did not stop n walk ard..
the 1st church which we stopped and toured was the st andrew's cathedral..
one of the oldest church in singapore.. did u noe tat Sir Stamford Raffles had chose the site for this cathedral? it was not called a cathedral in the early days.. only in the later part when they had a bishop in the church.. thats y they changed it frm church to cathedral..
n St. Hilda's church is their sister church! haha..

this is their "old" builing.. the original 1.. they r doing some renovations ba.. probably to patch up the paints n wat not.. there is a visitor centre right outside the cathedral located juz beside the Cityhall MRT entrance/exit if u interested to noe more..

was in handy and mitchell in the past.. argh.. i heard SHSS abolished the system(GW, Chia, Handy and Mitchell.. coz redundant..) i think they removed part of St. Hil's history.. stupid principal who according to esther puah looks like a taxi driver.. haha..

next we went to an armenian church.. its a very very small dying community here in spore..
coz those armenians dun wanna come singapore.. haha.
anyways.. the church is also very small.. to accomodate the size of the service..
very nice colonial styled buildings rite..

after tat we went to erm.. some.. roman catholic church..
cant remember the name.. i think its good shepherd or wat.. took pics

just finished watching the race thru my trusty tv in the living room..

the starting was quite boring tat i almost fell asleep on a few occasions.. (actually i did.. for a while la..)
whoa.. exciting man.. right after the 1st crash.. all the drama started to happen..

where all the drama started.. because of him.. renault's piquet

massa pulling out the fuel, knocking over the mechanic..

massa pulling out the refuel tube, knocking over the mechanic.. THAT was drama..
n becuase of that, it not only caused him time for the mechanics to fix the prob..he had to suffer a 10 sec penalty.. n tat was the turning pt for him..
the 1st safety car appearence was also the cause of alonso's success..
who would have thought.. the no. 1 seed massa would end up being in the last few and
the guy who left the qualifying race dejected because of an engine failure yest would be crowned the champion today??

alot of excitement.. since massa was in the last few, hamilton had to pull frm being 8 or 7 to try n squeeze to the top 3.. n he did.. 3rd place but gd enuf.. 3rd place puts him 1st in the drivers standing and mclaren over takes ferrari to become 1st in the constructor's standings.. muhaha.. i tot the 2nd appearance of the safety car would cause another change in the standing.. dramatic 1 la.. but alonso was very comfortable in his lead.. oh well.. he had a gd run.. ferrari had a bad day la.. 1st it was their star massa.. n their 2nd driver had to crash at the end with less den 10 laps more.. really wasted man.. so poor ferrari.. no pts today..

ok la.. i haven really watched F1 since micheal shumacher retired so.. yeah.. haha..
next yr hope got chance to catch the race live.. haha..

yes yes.. china's table tennis is 1 of the top teams and it was already expected tat s'pore team
could not win them n would settle for the silver instead..
n yes.. tat was wat happened.. but at least i htink they put up a gd fight.. not great, but still.. passable la..
feng tian wei n li jia wei (or so the wan bao calls them the 2 weis) managed to win a set each against wang nan n
zhang yi ning respectively.. which i think is quite alright..

n so, congrats.. silver is not bad already..
hopefully, next time we would see more locally breed ppl winning medals
instead of depending on the FTs.

yes.. finally, after many months of planning and well.. a few choir practices,

the ceremony has ended sucessfully last sat at botanic gardens.. qutie an unqiue place to hold a wedding i muz say.. weather was hot but hey, at least it din rain.. (praise God) think most of us were worried if it rained.

the ambiance was actually quite.. surrounded by flowers, grass n flowers n grass n flowers.. haha.. well there were candles too.. its quite a long hike up to the house but ah well..

Ah! The highlight of my week ( not really highlight ) is that i'll be starting lesson this coming friday. Which really happens to be tommorrow. So i'll be busy all over again, sometimes i just wish that i could just be a full time student, but then again, who's going to pay for my fees?
oh well.

Received money from the government this week. GST offset package
shall not mention how much least people start asking for treats and presents.
i think i got as much as plenty others.

Right now i'm still at my office or workshop whatever you want to call it.
yes, i'm slacking. Work has always been quite boring for me. I want to find another
job with better prospects and higher pay, but then again which company can let me have off
when i cannot finish my assignments, pay for all my meals and most importantly let me have a
chance to drive different cars. ( So far i have tried axio, altis 08, vios, a little bit of camry (cause i was just helping to reverse park) latio, wish, getz, lancer, sunny (please dont kill me ) and the most recent is renault senic). i guess you cannot have the best of both worlds.

hello again.. its time i upload my overdue pics..
been wanting to post but simply LAZY..
ok.. lets juz start with some random pics..

farewell to the old aircon in my room.. this is the last pic of my old aircon.. its been in my room ever since i moved into this flat over a decade ago.. sooo.. tata...

look... mr.. ahem.. planted star fruits at church.. cute eh.. its as if we have our own fruit farm/garden in church..
we oso have banana n bitter gourd too.. we had mangoes in the past but the tree was chopped off..

ok so last sat was my grandpa's 90th!! we went to no signboard at geyland to makan..
er.. dinner with my dad's side relative is always... .....
anyway.. they ordered mee sua.. which looks suspiciously like bee hoon..

er.. i cant remember wat tat is.. think its veg n scallops..

chilli crab! we had another plate of.. steamed crabs..

my ah gong... n his b day cake.. my ah gong can be very funny at times.. u juz need to talk to him more often..
like the HK trip we went together.. haha.. damn funny..
ok.. so i din really eat much there coz the food was like.. ok.. n i din eat any crabs at all (even though no signboard is famous for its crab) coz the steam crab was like finished in a flash n the chilli crabs were too spicy for my liking.. i could not even order buns!
only my bros will understand la.. anyways.. its ok.. we da baoed 1 butter crab for my aunt (which mi n euler ate too) which is alrite la..

so the next day we celebrated father's day at T3's dian xiao er..

this the roasted duck.. quite nice u noe..

ooo... i like this dish.. its juz a simple xiao bai cai stir fry with some garlic n chopped red chilli.. but i like.. its spicyness is juz right..

this is the dong bo rou.. a little fatty but still nice.. din eat much of this coz fatty..
all the fats as u can see..

this is prawn balls.. rather nice i muz say..

tofu..quite ordinary.. not much hoo ha.. but still quite ok..

ah! my fave fish of the time.. COD! actually we ordered steamed 1.. but dunno y the waitress wrote fried on our order n it came fried.. its ok.. its still nice.. but not as nice if it was steamed.. but its ok..

we ordered 2 plates of fried rice.. 1 with chilli 1 w/o.. as u can see.. i did my yuan yang fried rice again since its white n black again.. lol..

the famous fuo tiao qiang.. i cant appreciate these things.. so i dun really care.. i dun get wats the big deal abt these stuff.. wat abalone, shark's fin fo tiao qiang.. yan wo.. i prefer veg or fish or lobster.. haha..

we were still a little hungry.. so my aunt order cod again.. this time its steamed.. lol.. nice nice..

today ter, bel n i went to tat place..
coz of mr ter having to go thru some.. op.. but i think we'll go again in aug..
anyways.. after leaving tat place, we went to parkway to get some lunch... wanted to eat jacks
since ter owed us.. haha.. but since alot of ppl n they were both hungry.. we ended up at pasta..
anyways.. thanks ah bro for ur treat.. lol.. din thank u juz now..

while we were leaving the carpark to head to the shopping mall.. we noticed this vehicle right in front of us..
look at how he park!

juz for being nice i sensor his no. plate.. wha lau.. mister..
u noe feel ah? even if u mount the curb no feel, wont u feel slanted when alighting frm ur car??
my goodness.. this shld be placed at parking idiots man.. even though u din endanger any1..

yes yes.. i noe i was back since fri already.. but din have the time to blog.. i was so tired..
i just fell asleep once i hit the bed.. haha.. anyways..
its a gd get away.. been ages since i last went to a church camp n its oso my virgin trip to batam!
yes yes.. ive never been to batam.. anyways.. i shall let pics do the talking.. i cant possibly upload all
so i juz picked some random ones..

oikos church camp (or retreat) - Jia Ting Ri Ji
day 1, 8.20am at harbour front centre - watson

gathering round waiting for other's arrival n the time for departure.. oh n.. dun expect to see mi in the photos as usual.. im the camera man.. as usual.. lol u'll just see plenty of my church mates..

on board the ferry going to batam..

after a while we went outside to blow the sea wind.. (hai feng.. haha) see tats the cute qiqi.. pls ignore joel's face.. haha.. i simply wanted to blog qiqi's face..

ah.. this is quite nice.. upon arrival at the resort.. (we stayed at harris btw.. u can see later..) we were welcomed with a cup of very wierd tasting sweet bandung, nice cookies n a hand towel.. tats wat u call a gd customer service.. lol.. the ppl there were uber friendly..
after we stepped into the lobby, this guy urged us to dance with them (the crew) some line dance thingy..
well.. me being the camera man juz took pics n vids.. n no.. i din post them here..

there.. harris batam resort.. the rooms r not bad.. view oso not bad la..

so after some debriefing, since we could not get our rooms yet - we reached at ard 10 plus? somewhere there..
the rooms were not ready.. so we placed our luggage at the lobby n had some free time.. the 1st activity we did?
bowling.. haha.. but the balls were lousy.. the lightest was like 8, den jump to 10.. so i had to bowl with no. 10 balls.. not tat i cant lift them.. but the hole was too big for my fingers.. i chipped off the tip of my fingernail.. thumbnail.. irritating.. n i played a lousy game.. haha..

our 1st lunch at the resort..
after lunch we all got our rooms.. except for a few la..
den headed to the rooms to settle down etc.. my bros got a suite while my mom n i slept in the normal room..
so unfair.. din manage to get a pic of the suite though.
the reason i said was unfair coz the suite was so much bigger n nicer can.. haiz..
but its ok.. i like the view of my room's balcony..

2 single beds..

see the view of from my room.. thats the place where we can do water sports like sking, kayaking, banana boat etc..

this 1 is almost during sun down..
of course in between we had our service n wat not.. but im not gonna post the pics here..

day 2 - breakfast.
we had a very nice but short breakfast coz quiet time was delayed coz some ppl overslept.. n some juz did quiet time for too long..
but on the whole was quite punctual..
u can toast ur bread with this toaster..

n see the jams provided.. there is even honey!

so after breakfast we had a service session den it was free time all the way till dinner time..
i or we ( the youths) actually planned many programs.. like i wanted to play the airsoft gun, go kart, they wanted archery, flying fox n i wanted to try the spa or massage.. we only had 4 hrs..

many many many ppl went to play the flying fox.. its frm the roof of the resort to the end after the swimming pool.. obviously.. im not one of them.. haha.. y would i wanna pay n put myself thru tat trauma even though i did think of it.. haha.. its $5 per fly.. its quite funny.. many of them come down like become blur blur.. haha.. ask them ques they have to think for awhile b4 being able to ans.. oh, n when i said many ppl.. i meant many.. meaning not only the youths did, some of the aunties n uncles did it too!! cool!

den after tat we went to play go kart... sooooo fun!!!!!!!!!! unlike the 1 at escape which i lame
this is soooooooo fun.. specially when i got gd competitors.. my round was with prick pear n pricks' little sis.. kai yun.. wha.. she was damn competitive i tell u.. so competitive tat she even buang mi.. heng.. its a natural instinct to swerve in the opp direction or i would have crashed.. but i enjoyed myself.. haha.. going high speed ard the corners racing with pricks n kai yun.. poor pear.. i was so worried for her coz i saw her kart falling apart.. i tot it would explode or wat.. coz i was behind her.. den i saw some black thingy falling.. den as she drove other parts started to fall.. den i was like.. ay ay ay.. after tat the kart juz could not move.. so.. thank God.. nothing bad happened..

after the go karting, there was not much time left.. we headed back to the resort n initially i wanted to head back to the room to rest n bathe.. but prick wanted me to get her room key so i went to the poolside to find ber..
n i saw lil kids swimming so i juz sat there n watched them for awhile..

see zi ang on the slide.. en en of course qiqi was there.. so was jarel. (i dunno how to spell his name)

n at nite after service we had a short game.. see ppl playing game..

look at the breakfast.. creamy macroni, baked potate, hot dogs, eggs n baked beans. these r juz some of the things i put on my plate.. there were more which i was uninterested in.. there was porridge n cornflakes ( including coco crunch, honey stars etc.. )

some pastry.. the croissants are very nice!! light, fluffy n most imptly.. very nice!! haha.. i din try the cake but the other sultana roll thingy.. is oso quite nice.. lol..

ok this is freaking random.. its one of the dinner.. erm.. i think its the 1st nite's dinner.. or something.. haha
the food at the resort.. mostly were gd.. only the lunch on the 2nd afternoon was slightly disappointing coz the food din appeal to me.. n the noodle had a weird taste..

Day 3 - last day

after quiet time we took a grp pic.. this was a candid shot.. coz they were taking such a long time to adjust every1 n wat not.. so i got bored n took a few pics.. anyway.. i like to take candid shots. lol..

after tat we checked out n headed for a 1 day or technically a 1/2 day tour out of the resort n towards the batam city area..

on the bridge.. er.. cant remember the name..

we had lunch at golden prawn restaurant.. look at how big the coconut is!
after lunch we were supposed to go shopping but the guide - oki mentioned abt authentic javanese massage..
so i figured since nothing much at the shopping centers i went to try the massage.. er.. i cant say its a bad choice coz shopping apprently was also quite boring.. the massage was.. an experience la.. i probably wont do it again..
it was quite ticklish.. i was so afraid tat i would kick the massager coz she would msg the bottom of my feet n i always cannot control tat area coz its so ticklish.. i kept laughing.. but some parts was actually painful.. so throughout the entire massage all i felt was pain n ticklish.. haha.. but the face massage was really gd.. i almost fell asleep.. lol..

so after the massage we had to head for the pier n board the return ferry back to singapore..

our last grp photo on board the ferry.. i guess its quite a fun trip n i think many would agree with me that its quite short n too rush n not enuf time!!! haha.. if got chance shld go longer.. i din manage to play the airsoft gun.. haiz.. shld go there again.. haha..

ok.. its late.. im tired.. tomolo have to resume work.. after being on leave for 3 days n going thru 2 weekends.. i feel so lazy to go to work.. haha.. i wanna slp liao..tata all..

on the way back on ying ming's car... we saw this!

so the next day after went to hand up assignment.. was already 9 plus..

this is baked potato.. with cheese! i tot the potato is like mashed or wat.. but its the whole thing.. even with the skin.. lol..

or how children wait patiently each n everyday at the accident site to see if their parents are alive..
but den again.. i guess the emphasis on china somehow made ppl 4got tat actually myanmar also has a crisis..
n tat even though it happend earlier den china.. they somehow got 4gotten.. coz alot of chinese ard the world
helping out the china situation.. u cant say who is more worse.. its both bad.. so.. if u all can do anything.. do..
but those who dun have the financial stababilty, do always remember the power of prayer.. God listens!

that i start updating..
been wanting to update but i lost my memory card adaptor..
its somewhere la..
but now my room is in a mess.. things arnt where its supposed to be since so many ppl
is everywhere.. specially during weekends...

tats not the pt.. so been busy at work.. not with work.. haha
tired after home n still have to cope with my sch assignments which r due soon n i have not
really started on.. argh! in between all those i still find time to surf the net( which means lesser slp)
and also meet up late at nite with some ppl.. since i always leave office late..
like i juz got home frm class today..

a few wks back, esther was doing sketches for her assignment.. so since she was my helper,
n we were bored.. i got her to draw a rough sketch of scotty which she completed within 5 mins..

so again, a few wks back my cousin jerome wanted to meet for dinner..
so he brought us to this super ulu pandan place, near serangoon park at dunno wat street.
den.. i 4got the name of tat place.. haha.. super ulu la..

my aunt n jerome had soup.. their soup is quite nice..

this is nachos.. they have like 4 sauces u can dip it in.. cheese mayo n salsa.. they oso gave a plate of green chilli.. heaven noes y..

ah.. this muz be 1 of my fav side dish.. escargot... the white puree like thing is mash potatoes..
fragrent n soft meat.. =)

hmm.. the reason y i din drink soup.. coz i ordered this.. no.. this is not chinese tea.. its ang mo tea.. or rather.. german tea.. (german beer - miguel)

fish n chips - coz it was the cheapest on the menu..

the food was not bad.. but the fish was soooooooooooo big i could not finish half of it.. haha.. the bill came up to about $100 odd, but coz we ordered like so many sides tat the table beside us was staring at the 3 if us like as if we were some freaks (or fatso) eating so much..

coz i had rehearsals in church for the bu dao hui.. so had to go down to church..
wen pear arrived she faster u turn.. haha.. i think she din expect to see mi there.. but anyways.. i saw that she bot the cake.. so no.. im not suprised.. lol

i spent a short time with them coz we met in the noon for lunch n i had to go to church

after grad.. went to work.. n saved up for a trip to a country ive always wanted to visit..

being able to go is like fulfilling our promise.. but without her going physically la.. anyways..

must be one of the best buffets i've ever been to..
food quality,quantity wise.. n of course.. price wise(its also very "gd").. haha..
so i'll let the pics do the talking.. but.. the pics are dark n some quite blurry..
bad lighting.. i cant help it.. sorry.. dosen do the food any justice..

randomly... look the the no. of desserts on my plate.. i have 3 cakes, 1 apple crumble n 1 strawberry with chocolate.. haha.. usually i dun eat tat much dessert.. but everything here looks sooo gd tat i had to try them!!
the apple crumble was gd.. the cakes r not bad.. but since i was already quite full.. n i wanted to try the bread pudding.. i din finish them.. the cakes la..

sooo, we went kayaking btw, at pasir ris.. den i met gina to go to LIM AH MENG's (she says no1 calls her tat now.. so im annoucing it n letting the whole world noe.. that her name is ah meng)

birthday erm.. celebration at a simei condo.. which i only also stayed for a while..

gina happen to have another chalet at pasir ris too..

so we left for aloha together.. n i arrived at ard.. 9 or 10 plus.. i cant remember the time..

i finally decided to upload the pics that i took on my HP..

ok.. so.. i had my yuan xiao jie dinner with my family at the coffeeshop near the prime mart..
u noe the 1 beside KFC.. tats the 1.. look wat i had.. very yummy..
i like to eat zi char.. lol..

long beans, pig's hand (my mom wanted it.. ) fish maw soup n a fish..

this muz be my fav dish of the night.. salted egg crab!! whee.. love salted egg.. haha.. but very unhealthy..

anyways.. i finally got a chance to visit indulgz.. nice ambiance.. small place..
went there with hui after our sch seminar... since wat nearby so decided to drop by..

this is the view frm my seat.. there r a couple more (seats) where i was seated at..

so we ordered the set.. since more worth while.. this is the cocktail tat comes in the set.. mint flavour!

cream of potato soup.. very creamy.. nice tasting soup..

this is the highly recommanded beef bolognese cheese fries.. i love cheese.. so... haha..

we had 2 mains.. 1 was pork with.. apple n erm.. i cant remember wat..
the taste is very special.. not every1 can stand the taste.. hui din like it..
i think it was OK..

but this was nice.. crispy pasta in cream sauce..
this is nice.. the sauce is nice.. not too strong.. very special texture since the pasta is like crispy..
sort of like shen mian..
and our desserts! we had earl grey panna cotta and lemon souffle
both was not bad.. but i prefered the earl grey panna cotta better.. very light n nice taste of the earl grey..
taste abit like milk tea.. which i told hui tat SP would love.. coz she loves milk tea..
anyway.. its a little pudding like..

oh n this is special.. they dun serve ice water for free.. but for $1 u get this bottle of ice water..
nice bottle..

Total damage for both of us? ard $73.. damn ex!!!!!

im seriously broke.. no wonder i eat instant noodles everyday.. haha..

Yea.. went to my biao yi's place juz now..
